Palace Intrusions
07 July, 12.00pm

Other, please specify

The concept for Palace Intrusions was developed by composer Helen Ottaway and performer Melanie Thompson. Their interest was in creating site specific work in their local environment and in exploring the creative relationship between the people of Somerset, the City of Wells and the Bishop’s Palace.

A series of arts events are taking place around the Palace Moat in Wells. National and International artists are working with members of the local community, producing a wide variety of participatory events.

The First phase of Palace Intrusions, from October to December 2007, covered public drawing of the Palace walls, homelessness through still life and trumpeters on the towers at Christmas.

Phase 2 of Palace Intrusions starts on 31st May 2008 and involves talks and walks. The project can be followed through an exhibition at Wells Museum and through the website (www.palaceintrusions.org.uk). All Palace Intrusions events are free.

Additional Info

The Sound walk is available through the term of the project.
