Exhibition
The exhibition at Millstream, a single storey steel and glass residence, runs until 28 September.
Situated in the tranquil garden created by renowned landscapist John Brookes, the exhibition is an inspiring fusion of contemporary architecture with landscaping specifically designed for placing contemporary sculpture within intimately scaled surroundings.
Newberry states, “From the outset, I designed Millstream to incorporate sculpture. The beautiful surroundings provide an ideal backdrop for sculpture. Sculpture is placed in an environment where form is enhanced not only by light and shade but also by contrast to the surrounding foliage, ground textures and water.”
Several artists exhibit nationally (and internationally) – Peter Burke, Richard Kindersley, Tim Harrisson, Margaret Hunter. The sculptures, in stone, metal, wood or glass, have been selected, or specifically made, for particular locations within the garden.
